What we collect, and what everyone can see
This platform is built to publish money, not people. The distinction matters, so this page states exactly which of your details appear on the public pages and which never leave the committee.
Your name, flat number and contribution amount are public. Your phone number, email address and payment reference are not, and are visible only to the treasurer and the office-bearers who verify payments.
What is published
Anyone visiting the site, resident or not, can see these on the transparency dashboard and the public ledger:
- Your name — or Anonymous Contributor, if you ask the treasurer to record it that way
- Your flat number
- The amount, date and payment method
- Your receipt number
The flat number stays on the register either way, because the whole point of the register is that a household can check its own entry. In a society where neighbours know which family lives where, treat "anonymous" as hiding your name from a casual reader — not as making the contribution untraceable. If you need a genuinely private contribution, hand it to the treasurer and ask for it to be recorded as a general donation without a flat.
What is never published
- Your mobile number and email address
- The UPI or bank transaction reference you entered
- Any message you attached to a contribution
- Your password, which is stored only as a one-way hash and cannot be read back by anyone, including the committee
These are used to match your payment against the bank statement, send you your receipt, and let you sign in. Nothing else.
Payments
We never see or store card numbers, UPI PINs, CVVs or bank passwords. Payment happens inside your own UPI or banking app; all this site receives is the reference number you type in afterwards, which the treasurer matches against the account statement.
The collection account is named on the contribute page, including whose name it is held in.
Signing in with Google
If you use Continue with Google, Google tells us your name, email address and profile picture. We use the email address for one thing only: to find the account the committee has already created for you. We cannot read your Gmail, contacts, files or anything else, and a Google sign-in never creates an account on its own.
Cookies and tracking
One cookie, gm_session, which keeps you signed in. It is removed when you sign out.
There is no analytics, no advertising pixel and no third-party script of any kind on this site. Nobody is tracking which pages you read, and there is no data to sell because none is collected.
Correcting or removing your details
Write to avinashcpsinha@gmail.com or speak to any committee member. Your name, contact details and flat number can be corrected or removed at any time.
The ledger and the audit trail are append-only by design — the database physically refuses to update or delete a line. That is what makes the published accounts trustworthy, and it means a contribution entry cannot be erased after the fact. What we can do is post a correcting entry, or replace your name on the register with "Anonymous Contributor". The money, the date and the receipt number stay, because removing them would leave the books unable to balance.
Who holds this data
The Shriram 107 Southeast Ganapati Mahotsav committee, on a server rented for the purpose. It is not shared with, sold to, or processed by any other organisation. Uploaded vendor bills are stored outside the public web directory and can only be opened by office-bearers whose role permits it.
Records are kept for the festival year and its audit. After the accounts are closed and audited, contact details may be cleared while the financial record is retained.
